Protection of Minors in Europe
Dear Sir / Madam
In previous years the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Kinder- und Jugendschutz e.V. (Federal Association for
the Protection of Children and Young People) in Berlin has written to all European embassies with the
request to inform the BAJ about the regulations for the protection of minors in their respective
countries. The BAJ publishes these details on its website in both German and English language

We wish to update our website every two years. Unfortunately, we have not been issued with any
specific contact details at consular offices and feedback is dwindling. Often we are simply told that the
regulations for the protection of minors have to be requested directly from the ministries of health or
social affairs.
We now wish to try this different approach and would like to request that the ministries of health and
social affairs check their own country specific details, or use their existing contacts to forward our
request to the correct contact person. Alternatively, please kindly let us know who to approach.
If you spot any mistakes on our website or there have been changes to your laws and regulations, please
let us know by email (
[email protected]). If no changes are required, we would highly
appreciate your confirmation.
General information about the BAJ:
The Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Kinder- und Jugendschutz e.V. (BAJ) is a publicly funded non-profit
organization dedicated to obtaining and disseminating information on all issues related to child and
youth protection. The BAJ advises government and parliament on issues of child and youth protection
and disseminates information on legal regulations. In addition, it supports professionals from
kindergartens, schools and youth work through publications and training courses.
