Together with the citizens of Europe, we look forward to progress towards more effective enforcement of the equal pay principle between women and men for equal work or work of equal value. Following the adoption of the Directive, I would like to inform you about our plans to accompany you in its implementation. We intend to invite you to launch the implementation work with a kick-off meeting in early 2024. This first meeting will be followed by further dedicated implementation meetings in Brussels in 2024-2025. These meetings could be complemented by bilateral meetings with Member States. I would kindly request that you send us the names and coordinates of the officials in the relevant ministry who will be in charge of the implementation of the directive in your country, so that we can invite them directly to our first meeting. Please be sure to do so by the 25th September 2023. We will of course keep social attachés in copy. Your contact in the European Commission for purposes of the implementation process will be the Gender Equality Unit of Directorate General Justice and Consumers, which will be assisting you and monitoring the implementation.
