The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) presents his compliments
to Member States and regional economic integration organizations and has the honour to inform
them that the third meeting of the Standing Committee on Health Emergency Prevention,
Preparedness and Response (SCHEPPR3) will be held in person in WHO headquarters, Geneva,
from 13–14 September 2023, starting at 09:30 (CEST).
In view of the space restriction in connection with ongoing renovations at WHO
headquarters, up to two persons for SCHEPPR Member delegations and one person for
non-SCHEPPR Member delegations may be present in the room where the SCHEPPR3 is
convened.
Membership of this Committee is as follows: Mr Nicolas Palanque (Canada),
Dr Søren Brostrøm (Denmark), Mr Christian Rabaud (France), Dr Yasuhiro Suzuki (Japan),
Mr Selibe Mochoboroane (Lesotho), Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (Malaysia), Mr Ahmed Naseem
(Maldives), Dr Abdelkrim Meziane Bellefquih (Morocco), Dr Julio César Borba Vargas
(Paraguay), Dr Sabin Nsanzimana (Rwanda), Dr Odette Maria Freitas Belo (Timor-Leste),
Dr Qasem Mohammed Buhaibah (Yemen), Dr Hanan Mohamed Al-Kuwari (Qatar) ex-officio.

In accordance with resolution WHA49.9 (1996), and to support the aim of achievement of
SDG 5 (Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls), the Director-General
invites Member States to consider that gender balance be applied to their delegations.
