Drawing on recent operations with the Danish Armed Forces—where autonomous platforms achieved over 90% uptime in one of the most demanding operating areas in Europe—as well as multi-year deployments with US 4th Fleet, we will outline the operational factors that enable reliable, persistent maritime coverage at scale. Topics will include the technical distinction between true autonomy and remote-control systems, the importance of reliable “get-home” capability, and how renewable power endurance affects cost per mile monitored.
